Autonomous regulatory agents: ASC’s expertise, running inside your own company

We’re opening a pilot programme for organisations that want to automate regulatory compliance without giving up expert judgment — or control of their data and their artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is transforming how companies manage regulatory compliance. But so far, that change has come with an uncomfortable trade-off that forces companies to choose between speed and rigour. At ASC Services we believe that choice is a false one — and we’re building the proof.

The problem with today’s two options

When a company wants to speed up its regulatory work with AI, it currently has only two paths, and neither is fully satisfactory.

Generic AI tools — the assistants everyone knows — write quickly and are cheap, but they don’t understand regulation. They don’t know your sector, they confuse a repealed regulation with the one in force, they invent legal references and, above all, they won’t stand up to an inspection or take responsibility. What they produce looks like a deliverable, but it isn’t one.

Traditional consultancy, in turn, brings the judgment and accountability that are missing — but at the cost of speed and dependence: every task waits its turn, every query is billed by the hour, and the knowledge stays outside your company.

The question we asked ourselves was simple: what if you could have both — the speed and scale of AI, with the judgment and safeguards of an expert — without giving up control of your data?

A third way: from a service you hire to an agent that works alongside you

For more than twenty years we’ve guided manufacturers, importers and distributors through regulatory compliance: medical devices, cosmetics, food supplements, biocides, food-contact materials, packaging and customs documentation. That knowledge — how an expedient is actually resolved, what an authority looks for, where the risks that don’t appear in the text of the law are hiding — is what truly separates looking compliant from being compliant.

Now we’re bringing that knowledge to a new model: AI agents that run autonomously inside the client’s own environment, applying ASC’s validated criteria and workflows. This isn’t one more tool you buy and learn to operate. It’s our way of working, running alongside you and for you, continuously, inside your own house.

What changes for your company

Your environment, your control

The agent works inside your own environment, with your data under your control. It’s designed from the ground up for privacy and for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): your sensitive information doesn’t have to travel beyond where you decide, and when our expert judgment needs to be applied, only what is strictly necessary for that specific query is exchanged. For a company handling formulations, technical files or confidential product data, that’s not a detail — it’s the difference between being able to automate or not.

Your own artificial intelligence

The agent runs on your own AI subscription. You choose the provider and the model, you control the compute, you control the cost. You’re not locked into a third party’s pricing or an unpredictable bill: the power of the AI is yours, and our knowledge is what steers it and turns it into useful judgment.

Expert judgment, continuously and at scale

Generic AI produces text; ASC produces judgment. Our procedures and hands-on expedient experience are applied autonomously, without waiting for a consulting slot to open up. What used to be a one-off service becomes an always-available capability inside your organisation — the same standards as always, at the speed today’s market demands.

You keep the signature and the responsibility

For regulated deliverables, signing responsibility is configured to fit your organisation. You keep control over who owns and validates each document, with the traceability and safeguards your regulatory framework requires. Automation doesn’t take control away from you: it gives it back, with more capacity behind it.

An example of what it means in practice

Picture a cosmetics importer with dozens of product references. Each one needs to know what level of regulatory scrutiny applies, what documentation is missing and which deadlines are approaching. Under the traditional model, that’s one query per product and one invoice per hour. With a generic tool, it’s a fast answer you can’t rely on.

With an ASC agent running in its environment, the importer gets, continuously and over its own data, a reasoned classification, the list of what’s missing and an alert for every deadline — applying the same judgment we would apply ourselves, and leaving the final decision and the signature where they belong: with its responsible person. The knowledge of how it’s done stays at ASC; the useful, actionable result stays with the client.

How it differs from a generic AI tool

  • It understands your sector: it doesn’t apply AI blindly, it applies ASC’s regulatory judgment.
  • It doesn’t make things up: it relies on verified regulation and twenty years of expedient work, not on what «sounds right».
  • It leaves a trail: every result is traceable and verifiable, ready for an inspection.
  • It respects responsibility: sensitive decisions aren’t closed by a machine; a professional validates them.
  • It lives in your house: your data and your AI are yours; we bring the judgment, we don’t take your information away.

Built for sectors where mistakes are costly

This model is designed for the areas ASC works in every day, where an error has real consequences: medical devices (MDR/IVDR), cosmetics (ISO 22716, CPSR), food supplements, biocides, food-contact materials, packaging and EPR, and customs documentation, among others. Sectors where it’s not enough to look compliant: you have to be compliant, prove it and pass an inspection. We’re starting with a focused set of use cases and expanding with every company that joins the pilot.

Trust can’t be automated away

Automating doesn’t mean giving up rigour. Everything the agent does rests on the same pillars that have underpinned our work from day one:

  • Expert oversight: the AI prepares and applies; professional judgment validates. Sensitive decisions are never left to a machine.
  • Traceability and evidence chain: every document is identified and verifiable, with a timestamp and proof of origin — trust made verifiable.
  • Compliance by design: our approach is aligned with the EU AI Act and with EN 18286:2026 (published; pending OJEU citation), the sector’s first standard for AI quality management systems.

Frequently asked questions

Does my data leave my company? The agent runs in your own environment and is designed to keep your sensitive information under your control. When our expert judgment needs to be applied, only what is strictly necessary for that specific query is exchanged.

Do I need technical knowledge? No. We handle the setup; your team works with results, not with code.

Who is responsible for compliance? Responsibility and signature are configured to fit your organisation. ASC brings the judgment and the safeguards; you keep control and the final decision.

Which AI does it run on? On your own AI subscription: you choose the provider and control the cost.

Is it available yet? We’re in a pilot phase, selecting a small group of partner companies for the first deployments.

Why now

AI won’t wait for the market to decide how to use it. The companies that integrate artificial intelligence early — with regulatory judgment and with safeguards — will be the ones that pull ahead of those who use it blindly or not at all. Our goal with this pilot isn’t to sell a promise, but to build the solution together with a small group of pioneering companies, and to do it right from the start.

Pilot programme: seeking partner companies

We’re in a pilot phase and opening places for a limited number of organisations that want to be among the first to make the leap. If your company manages regulatory compliance and wants autonomy without losing rigour, control of its data or expert responsibility, we’d like to talk.
